I’m Yan Wang, a Research Associate in the School of Communication at Hong Kong Baptist University,

 

I received my Ph.D. (in Communication) at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2025, advised by Professor Kara Chan, where I also acquired my M.A. (in communication) degree. I have been a visiting student at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2024, advised by Prof. Michelle Nelson) and Nanyang Technological University (2023, advised by Dr. Chen Lou), the University of Hong Kong (2019) and University of Kaohsiung (2017), respectively. My research areas include social media advertising, influencer marketing, persuasion communication. I also pay attention to the intercultural communication. 

 

I employed both qualitative (strong focus) and quantitative methods and are often comparative in nature.
