I’m Yan Wang, a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Communication at Hong Kong Baptist University, advised by Prof. Kara Chan.

 

I also acquired my MA (in communication) at Hong Kong Baptist University. I have been a visiting student at Nanyang Technological University (2023, advised by Dr. Chen Lou), the University of Hong Kong (2019) and University of Kaohsiung (2017), respectively. Please see my CV here.

My research areas include social media advertising, influencer marketing, consumer behavior and celebrity studies. I also pay attention to the intercultural communication. 

 

I employed both qualitative (strong focus) and quantitative methods and are often comparative in nature.
